Best of 2015

I’m so excited to be living in California! With the exception of one shot from Maui (which happens to be my favorite photo of all time), all my favorites were captured in California. Even one from a grocery store with my iPhone.

Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe

Spent the weekend with some fantastic friends. Grabbed a few shots of Emerald Bay while we were there.

Amador County Wine Tasting

Another fine day of wine tasting last weekend. I think we’ve discovered a new favorite region… Amador County! The scenery was nice, the people were very friendly, and the wines were fantastic!

Lodi Wine Tasting

This little day trip has been on my radar for months. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the ripening of the grapes so I could get some nice close-ups. That day finally arrived over the weekend.

Yosemite Afternoon

Wow. It’s been over two months since I last went out shooting. Today we took a long overdue day trip to Yosemite. I can’t wait to spend some more time there to get some sunrise and sunset shots.

There’s something about cold cloudy days that just demand to be shot in black and white. Mary and I took a day trip to Pacifica today to shoot this incredible dock. I’ll be going back when I find my wide angle lens that’s still buried in a box somewhere after the move.

Amador City

The second to last weekend of exploring on my own has arrived. I’m looking forward to moving my wife out here so we can go back and explore these places, and many more, together. Today’s jaunt: Amdaor City.

Bodega Bay Sunset

You guessed it… More California exploring! This weekend: Bodega Bay. In case you can’t tell, I’m hooked on long exposure ocean shots with rocks these days. In attempt to mix it up a bit, I decided to try a few from a higher vantage point. I still prefer getting down on the beach, but it was a good experiment and fun to mix things up. Here are the keepers.

Sutter Creek

I only had one photo destination on my radar this weekend: Sutter Creek. I spent about an hour walking up and down main street, doing everything in my power to avoid the wine tasting shops since I had to drive home. :) Still, a beautiful little town that I’ll go back to when I can get a room and don’t have to work the next day.

Jack London State Park

Exploring NorCal again today. This adventure took me to Jack London State Park, where I got a few shot of the wolf house ruins and one of his grave… Chilling (with the right processing).
